Announcing Life
In Papua New Guinea, the local church reaches into places no government program can. Into rural villages. Into the lives of young people with no income, no opportunity, and no way forward.
Announcing Life works through these churches to bring real change – equipping leaders to strengthen their communities and giving disadvantaged youth a way to build a livelihood.
Two programs. One conviction: the church is the agent of change.

Kingdom Seminars
Across East New Britain, pastors, priests, and church leaders from every denomination are gathering for intensive two-day Kingdom seminars run by Mustard Seed Global.
These aren’t academic exercises. They’re a catalyst. Leaders are challenged with the heartbeat of Jesus – what the Kingdom of God looks like when it moves beyond the walls of a building and into the practical needs of a community.
What does it mean to hear the voice of God and act on it? How does a church become a force for real, tangible good in a village where people are struggling to survive?
When you support these seminars, you’re investing in the leaders closest to the need. Pastors who walk the same roads as their people. Leaders who already have trust, relationship, and reach into some of the most remote communities in PNG.
Each year, over 300 pastors and church leaders come together for two major Kingdom Seminars. Many travel long distances to be there. Your generosity helps make that possible – and what they carry home has the potential to change the way their churches serve for years to come.
Youth microenterprises
In East New Britain, a generation of young people is growing up without a livelihood. School dropout rates are high. Opportunities are scarce. And for too many, anger and hopelessness are filling the gap – fueling law and order problems that are putting entire communities at risk.
Your support is changing that story, one young person at a time.
Through the Announcing Life Youth Microenterprise Project, local churches are given a suite of microenterprise opportunities to run with the young people in their own communities. Each church enters into an agreement with Mustard Seed Global and receives training, start-up equipment, and ongoing support.
The microenterprise opportunities include:
- Growing cocoa
- Fish farming
- Sewing
- Bread baking
- Mobile phone repair
- Resale of second-hand shoes and caps from Australia
Church leaders select the young people who need it most, provide mentoring and accountability, and walk alongside participants as they learn simple business skills and begin earning an income.
It sounds straightforward. And that’s the point. A young person with some money in their pocket and a reason to get up in the morning has a foundation to build on. Some will connect with vocational training. Others will find entry-level work. All of them will have something they didn’t have before – a way forward.
The program is currently piloting with 12 churches in and around Kokopo in East New Britain, with plans to scale across the province. The goal is to reach 100 partner churches, each running at least two microenterprises, engaging hundreds of young people who would otherwise have nothing.
When you give your best gift today, you’re putting real opportunity into the hands of a young person who has been overlooked by everyone else.
You’re backing the local church to do what it does best – reach into its own community and lift people up.
The thread that ties it all together
The seminars light the fire. The microenterprises give it somewhere to go.
A pastor who catches a vision for what the Kingdom looks like in action goes home and identifies the young people in his village who are struggling. He signs up his church. His leaders get trained. And within weeks, a young woman is learning to sew, or a young man is tending a fish tank – earning an income for the first time in their life.
That’s how lasting change starts. And your generosity is the reason it’s happening.
